The mainstream music & media machine are saturating our kids with sex & violence. This is actually now a public safety issue. There absolutely needs to be an alternative culture that can help guide the youth through knowledge, wisdom & overstanding. Hip Hop culture is the perfect vehicle for positive community building, environmental activism, teamwork, critical thinking, group communication, art participation, political discussion, learning a new relevant world culture & spreading knowledge among our youth. Just as with any art form & culture the kids can be involved in creating & building their own creations with the many elements of the culture. This program would help prepare the students for dealing with the real world & moving out onto their own & would give them a set of skills & confidence that will help them in their transition to becoming a healthy adult. I can also foresee staging events that could have the potential to bring money in for the schools & organizations we work with such as: breakdancing meets, emceeing & deejaying tournaments, group performances, (eco friendly) graffiti art shows, study groups, lectures, workshops, regional seminars & the list goes on & on. I can teach Hip Hop culture through an Anthroposophical, environmentalist, eco-friendly & spiritualistic viewpoint & that is what I want to teach & that is already who I am. It is a perfect fit. I believe the only way we can change the future of our planet is by educating the youth of today. I am worthy of being a good role model & mentor & the larger community as a whole will prosper from the HHCP.
